This is how you make it

  1. Heat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Spread the oatmeal on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Roast this for 10 minutes until light brown. Toss from time to time.
  3. Grind the dates in the food processor into a smooth ball. Put this in a large bowl.
  4. Add the almond paste and maple syrup and stir to combine.
  5. Crush the nuts in the food processor with a short pulse. You can leave the nuts as big or small as you want. Mix the nuts with the date mass.
  6. Cover a 12x12 square tray with baking paper and put the mixture in it. Press well, put it in the freezer for 30 minutes and then cut into cubes or strips.
