A seaweed snack: doesn't that sound exotic? Nori (seaweed) chips are common in Japan and Korea. You can buy them (often packed in a lot of plastic) in the store, or you can make your own nori chips. Wanna try?
Put the sesame oil in a bowl. Place a sheet of nori shiny side up and grease lightly with oil. Drizzle with salt.
Repeat with the other 9 sheets.
Heat a dry skillet over medium heat.
Place the first sheet of nori in the pan with the dull side down and press with a flat spatula. After 15 seconds, place the second sheet with the dull side up on the first sheet. Turn over after 15 seconds. This way the second sheet will lie with the dull side down. Now place the third sheet with the dull side up on the sheet and turn. Repeat this until all sheets have been baked for 15 seconds.
Let the sheets cool and cut them into quarters or nine.
Store the chips in an airtight container. Also delicious in ramen or miso soup!
